Depending on your vase and the floral design you’re planning, you may want some additional support for your stems. Chicken wire has had a resurgence as a more sustainable way to do this.

I will note in the Arranging Tips section of the product page if I think an insert would work well - if the neck is much narrower than the middle it can be difficult to manipulate and get in and out.

Not everyone has a roll of chicken wire at home - or needs a whole roll - so I thought it would be helpful to offer custom chicken wire inserts so you just get what you need for your vase. The chicken wire I use has 25mm openings. The steel is hot dip galvanised after being fabricated, which makes it more resistant to corrosion.

You can secure the wire down with floral tape, but I’ve found that if I’m just moving it about the house it stays in place.

After my arrangement has gone over I take the insert out of the vase and clean them both in hot soapy water.
